The Dutch model, who welcomed baby Alexander into her life mere weeks ago, was airlifted to a hospital in Naples after a shocking surf accident left her in a critical condition on September 3rd.
Having fallen from a motorised surfboard while on holiday near the Italian island of Ischia, the 33-year-old model attempted to swim to safety.
According to reports however, the new mum was knocked unconscious after another jet surf rider accidentally struck her at speed as she attempted to make her way to shore.
While her US representatives have yet to comment on her condition, it is understood that the model, who has walked for international brands including Dior, Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren, may be at risk of permanent paralysis following the tragic incident.
It has been established that Yfke, who divorced ex-husband Imad Izemrane in 2010 after three years of marriage, is currently in a coma.
