With shops already getting prepared for Easter, our consumption of egg-shaped chocolates has gone up considerably over the last few weeks.
And this increased consumption has led to a pretty big discovery.
If, like us, you’re partial to a Kinder Surprise, you may just be as shocked as we were when we realised this little piece of information.
While this may not be new info to some of you, we were pretty surprised when we learned what exactly was going on inside our Kinder eggs – and we weren’t the only ones.
I've just realised the surprise inside of a kinder egg is yellow because it's supposed to be the yolk and I feel so smart pic.twitter.com/mcHZZxpUNI

Yes, thanks to other chocolate egg lovers, our minds were blown when we finally realised that the yellow casing inside is meant to be the yoke.
Discussing this in MummyPages HQ this morning, half of us were shocked, while the rest looked on confused as to how we couldn’t have seen it sooner.
I didn't know the toy inside a Kinder Egg was yellow cos it was the yolk? Wtf

Thankfully, bands of others are sharing their surprise (see what we did there?) on Twitter so we can rest assured, at least we weren't the only ones.
