They have found themselves at the centre of plenty of controversy over the past 12 months, and Strictly Come Dancing stars Ben Cohen and Kristina Rihanoff have been dealt a further blow today.
Amid speculation that England rugby star Ben and professional dancer Kristina are romantically involved, Ben’s former mother-in-law, Felicity Bassouls, has weighed in on the drama.
Ben and ex-wife Abby, who have two young daughters together, called time on their 11-year marriage in September of last year. Rumour was rife at the time that Ben’s close relationship with Kristina contributed to their marital problems.
Now, with recent photos emerging of Ben leaving Kristina’s home, Bassouls has blamed the pair's rumoured relationship for ‘killing a family’.
In an interview with The Sun, Bassouls said: “I don’t know why Kristina doesn’t go back to Russia and leave us all alone. I can’t stand the sight of that woman. All this has killed a family.”
Bassouls' comments come just days after Kristina opened up on the anguish the situation has caused her.
Speaking recently to the Mail on Sunday, the dancer said: “I am a normal human being, maybe I have not always done the right thing. I make mistakes but I do not have to be crucified for them. My past should be allowed to be my past.”
Ben and Kristina have always insisted that they have never been romantically involved.
