When sports star Cristiano Ronaldo welcomed his son Cristiano Jr. five years ago while he was leading Portugal at the 210 FIFA World Cup, he admits his son “changed everything”.
"A person who has your blood, it’s unbelievable, it’s a great feeling. My friends ask me if I want more kids and I always say yes, I want more, it’s the best thing you can have in your life,” he explained about fatherhood.
However, the mother of his five-year-old has always remained a closely guarded secret by the former Manchester United player, who raises the youngster with his mum, Dolores.
The 30-year-old has never revealed how his son was conceived and insists in his new book, Ronaldo, that he never will.
“People speculate I was with this girl or another, or there was a surrogate mother. I have never told anyone and never will.”
Adding that only his son needs to know the full story, the talented footballer revealed that he would tell him everything when he is older.
“When Cristiano is grown up I will tell him what I did, what I felt, everything that went through my mind. Some children never get to know their parents, neither mother nor father. Having a father is enough," he said.
Dolores, who doesn’t know the full truth, is not bothered with details, revealing that all she wants to do is “give [her] grandson love and educate him as Ronaldo asked [her] to.”
