Cheesy vegetable bake

Add your kid’s favourite vegetables for a healthy dinner.
350g shell or penne pasta
30g butter
2 tblsp cornflour
500ml milk
200g grated cheese
1 medium carrot, grated
145g peas
125g corn
75g breadcumbs
55g parmesan cheese, grated
Preheat oven to 180C or gas mark 4
Grease a 2l capacity baking dish.
Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling water until just tender. Once cooked, drain the pasta and spoon into a baking dish. Add the vegetables.
Melt butter in a pan, stir in cornflour and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add the milk, whisking all the time.
Return to heat and stir constantly until sauce thickens.
As soon as it is ready, pour the white sauce over the pasta and vegetables.
Top with the cheese and breadcrumbs before placing in the oven for 30 minutes until golden.
