Professional surfer Bethany, who famously survived a shark attack, confirmed last night that she has given birth to a baby boy.
Bethany took to her Twitter account to reveal that she and husband Adam Dirks have named their little one Tobias; he weighed in at 7lb 9oz.
“Blessed to welcome our son, Tobias! Adam and I are so in love with our ‘lil guy and are stoked to share life with him!” wrote the 25-year-old, describing herself as ‘a stoked mamma’.

Bethany, who is the inspiration behind the movie Soul Surfer, revealed that the couple chose to name their son Tobias – which means ‘the goodness of God’ – after his great-grandfather.
Bethany and Adam announced their wonderful baby news back in February, posting a touching YouTube video to share their excitement.
The new mum, who lost an arm in the shark attack over 10 years ago, shared her thoughts on impending motherhood at the time.
“I often forget that I have one arm. When I think about it, a squirming baby and changing the diaper…I think how I live life: just adjust and adapt to different things, especially things that are a lot easier with two arms,” she said.
