My 4year old and I made a story on this site and thought it was great!. It really allowed the child to use their imagination when then had to choose an ending or make it up themselves. My 6 year old also joined in they made a book together, which meant we we all got to sit down chat and read together.
The kids and I loved the website, it's so colourful as soon as you land on it with a wide choice of cute characters plus it's easy to navigate!. The little extra bits you can drag and drop onto your scene makes it even more fun to create the story.

My 4year olds favourite scene was the space scene. She added rockets and aliens herself to complete her story and then we read it together again afterwards changing the ending again.
When I heard the name Kinder, I did think of the chocolate egg and I was suprised to find out it was actaully to do with it. I'm impressed that they've made such a fun site for all the family to get involved with and I'll be telling my friends about it for sure- they may even get a gift of one ! :-)

I've just finished making a story for my son. I loved the range of scenarios and characters available for the book. It's also great that you can add your childs name and a name for the character you're choosing too. I didn't immediately click that the name Kinder was actually Kinder Surprise but once I saw the characters I likened them to the little toys you get inside the Kinder egg. I loved how easy it was to make the book and that you can choose what you want included in the book yourself.

I love reading and spent many a happy hour in my childhood devouring book after book.I'm keen to pass that love of books onto my daughters as books are quite simply magical. They can cheers us up when we are feeling sad, they can transport us to fantastic new worlds and like an old friend, they are always there for us.

I recently got the chance to create a lovely personalised book for my 3 year old at Storymakers.com. Róisín, has Down syndrome and is a strong visual learner so we try to find brightly coloured, imaginative stories as she responds very well to them. I try to read to her every night before bedtime. Keeping her seated while we read a story to her can be challenging, however. She absolutely adores stories where she, herself, is part of the action so I am always on the look out for good quality personalised stories for her.

The storybook available at Storymakers didn't disappoint. The site is bright and inviting and crucially very easy to navigate. So easy, that you can get your child involved, which to me, is a unique feature of personalised story book sites. It comes from the makers of the Kinder egg and the characters involved are the same toys that you get in the eggs. The website has a great interactive feature that lets you and your child create their own story. You begin by choosing your toy, and giving it a name, and then over five settings, you plot the action for your character. There is a myriad of settings to choose from including the vastness of outer space, the depths of the sea, on the farm, in the jungle and, Róisín's personal favourite-at the seaside.

There are lots of lovely little details that complement the personalised element such as the ability to have the story take place at nightime or during that day and you can also add your own ending to the chapters. You also have control over adding certain extras to the page and again, there is a good choice of colours and styles. At the end, there is even a letter for your child, that will make them truly feel like they have created something wonderful.

Kinder have created a fantastic site that allows you to save a lovely personalised story on your computer or tablet. Overall, both my daughter and I loved the storymakers experience and will be recommending it to family and friends, as well as logging back on to create a brand new story for our youngest daughter when she is a bit older. I can't wait to for the chance to once again share the magic with our child!

7.30pm rolls around & (sometimes) with it that impending feeling of dread I am ashamed to admit. 3 sets of toilets stops, pull up/nappy changes & little baby milk teeth to scrub.....under duress of course. Sometimes I feel I would gladly swap with my smallies & hop straight into bed & leave them up to roam the house. But we know that wouldn't work. Once we are up the stairs, with books in-hand a sense of calm is restored.

We are big readers in this house. In fact sometimes I think my 2nd born is half child - half book such is the fascination! In our adult world, as we sit there bleary eyed, thinking about the washing up in the sink downstairs, it can be easy to kiss them all goodnight and get on with the never ending chores. But much as I struggle sometimes to muster up the energy, I never ever let my kids go to sleep without a book. That five minute snuggle into Mummy or Daddy's lap, all fighting over the best spot, one of them practically sitting on your head & those really badly exeucted accents are met with silence, awe & complete immersion. Where else in the world would I get that from an audience?

I cannot imagine a world without Fantastic Mr Fox, The Gruffalo & The Twits, to name but a few of the big hits in our house. How can you top that? You can't but you can come pretty close by having your child actually star in the book!! Cue eyes wide as saucers.

These are some of the reasons why storymakers.com from Kinder Surprise was a huge hit with my adventurers. The beautifully laid out, easy to navigate, brightly coloured site worked fantastically on my iPad. With options to write your own script or pick from ready made suggestions, it kept my 3 and 5 year olds interested right through the process of creating their own storybook. There are characters to suit all & no matter what your adventurers preferences are, be it under the sea or outer space, there are scenes to suit all too. And for Mum, it was painless!!! And fun!

I was really impressed with Kinder Surprise for developing this site & will be recommending it to my friends. The fact that you can purchase your book once created is a great incentive to get them on there & hone their storymaking skills. And it would certainly keep them occupied in a restaurant , airport or hotel lobby!

So my advice is to log on, get creative and reading!! When else in you life are they going to hang on your every word? Happy Storymaking!!!

When I heard about this I was really quite excited and overall I wasn't disappointed with my experience.
I had initially begun a story with my 3 year old son on my tablet but in the end changed to using my laptop as I found the larger screen easier to navigate the site.
I love reading with my son which can be difficult at times to find one on one time with him with his 1 year old sister. With the 2 of them I try read stories suitable for them both but making the story via the Kinder page was a lovely way to have one on one time with him and watch his little imagination make his own story.
It was fun watching my son try to choose a character and then to name it. The options are great for the characters adventures. I really liked how you could make the story Day / Night and have a choice of characters to interact with in each adventure.
I really thought the site was lovely, bright and engaging. I liked how you could change the colours / styles of the additional characters on each page. All of the scenes I thought offered something a little different and I thought were educational in having characters that may not be the norm such as the Puffer Fish.
Overall, I found my experience with the site a positive one. I would like to have been able to delete individual stories or to be able to “Go back” to change a character as 3 year olds can be choosy! In saying that, it wasn’t a big deal not being able to.
I like too that you can add story makers. Its a great way for each child, nice, nephew maybe even Mum & Dad to have their own story!
This is definitely something I would use again and again and love also that I can download the stories that we can read on the tablet / laptop. Also, they are something I would certainly look at purchasing depending on the quality and the price for each.
Well done Kinder on making Story Making fun for kiddies (& this Mammy too!!)

I started reading to my kids from a very early age, it is a big part of their sleep routine and it really helps them relax after their day. I made the story with my 3 year old thinking it would not be suitable for my 6 year old but they both loved getting involved in the story making and had their own input all the way. It was great that you could choose your own character and let her go on an adventure with them. There favorite was the jungle sceen with the cheeky monkey . We knew straight away it was from Kinder because we do get the kids a kinder egg as a surprise...it's their favorite treat.

Loved it and looking forward to receiving our book now to read at bed time.

Reading with kids is a massively important parental responsibility. It helps expand vocabulary and understanding. Reading has been a key feature in my house since my first was only a baby. We have accumulated so many children’s books. Favourites in this house include classics like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and Little Red Riding Hood as well as more modern tales of the Gruffalo, Owl Babies and Room on a Broom.
It can be hard to find time to read with the kids but a few minutes story time to relax them at bed time is always nice or now that my two oldest kids, at aged eight and five, are in school they often have reading homework so we try to ensure we allow enough time to read the stories slowly and carefully.
My kids also love a personalised book. We have a couple at home and they are always amazed to see their name in print. When we got a chance to be actively involved in creating a story through storymakers.com, a new site from Kinder, my oldest was particularly interested. We logged in easily and were taken to a bright and colourful home page which was so child friendly and welcoming. The navigation was easy and as we progressed through the story my daughter played a very active role in both the creation of the actual story and the design.
She got a chance to choose characters, the location of the adventures (which ranged from jungles to deserts and everything in between) and even some of the dialogue of the story. The favourite being an under-water scene involving a singing dolphin!
There were a great range of characters and it was only as we were scrolling through them my daughter, much to her delight, suddenly realised they were all Kinder characters.
A lovely little story was created right in front of their very eyes on my laptop (although for those more mobile, a tablet device can be used too). The process was so easy and pleasant. It was so interactive even for a young child.
I have to say I am genuinely impressed with the site. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending the site to others with young kids. There are chances to win the created book in professionally printed form. Even if you are not a winner you can download your version and print it yourself from PDF. All in all a super idea from Kinder.

I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to try our the new Kinder Storymakers website. I have a 5.5 year old and a 3.5 year old - who both love storytime!

As a working mum, my plan was to create a story with them both in bed using the iPad in place of their normal storybook just before sleep...probably not the best idea as they were both so excited by their ability to create their own story that the bedtime routine was extended by an hour....eeek! They simply loved it.

I was always a big reader as a child and I hope to instil this love and passion for books into my own children so that they too can become lost in a world of their own imagination. I really believe in the saying that 'A child who reads will be an adult who thinks' and I hope my two children look back on the storybooks they have created themselves with fond memories for many years to come.

Sometimes it can be hard to find the time to find the energy to read the book that your child chooses for you at bedtime when you're all only home a short time from work and a long day in school and childcare. But it is always so rewarding as you watch their little faces enjoy the story, listening to your every word, their little minds working overtime as they create images of the story in their heads, and every so often ask a probing question that reminds you again why it is so important to read to them and support them in their own reading.

The Kinder stroymakers website is so fantastic because you can create as many stories as you like and print them out for their own library. It's a lovely way to while away a rainy afternoon and offers you a window into your child's mind. The characters are instantly recognisable and the tool to create your own story depending on your level of reading, comprehension and writing means that there is something for everyone. The page turn sound effects and bright colours make it so easy to navigate and engage the children instantly. I'll definitely be spreading the word about this site amongst all of my friends, it would make a lovely unique gift too. Super fun for the whole family to get involved in.

I have create a number of stories with my children using both the laptop and the iPad, and it has been a wonderful experience on both, so much so that the children are now trying to go off create their own stories without my help! The additional sticker options as my children call it really keep the children's attention as they can add extra scenery or charcters to each story. They were especially popular with my 3.5 year old who likes to be kept busy.

My only constructive piece of feedback to the Storymakers team is that a second option to include two named characters in the book would be fantastic. My two children loved it but really wanted to create the story together and were a little disappointed that they couldn't add two main characters :-) Of course, this just means lots more fun with both James and Lucy as they each take their turn to create their own individual books with their little imaginations shining through in each one.

I always read stories for Abi at bedtime. But as a working mum I find this is the only time I really spend with books. . Abi is hearing impaired and has a severe language delay so this was interesting for her as she could use visual aids instead. Abi and I sat snuggled up by the fire to try out storymakers.com. I was delighted to see Animals as Abi loves animals but wish there had been more. e.g when 'Ben' explored the farm, Abi said let's find a hen....but there was no hen option ....there were ducks however, so she clicked on them. My initial thoughts on entering the site was that it was very simple and looked easy to navigate. Lovely and colourful too. I think more things to add instead of just 3 items would have kept Abi there for much longer. All in all though it was a nice activity to do together.

I was delighted to take part in this experience - I have 3 kids, aged 8, 6 and 2 and reading is always an important part of the bedtime routine for them all. I tend to take some time out during the day to read a story with my 2 year old aswell - the favourite at the moment is Peepo ! Throughout the years their favourite books were from Julia Donaldson, Oliver Jeffers and Benji Bennett and more recently we are going through the Roland Dahl series. I feel it is really important to take the time to read with the kids, as well as quality time and quiet time I think it builds up a sense of importance of reading that the older one is now doing on her own.
I started the Storymaker with the 2 year old and of course his inital reaction was to go with the tractor - I enjoyed reading to him and liked the way I could give him a choice with the different scenerios. The colours were very engaging and there was a great novelty in changing the scene from Day to Night. The 6 year old came joined in and took control and was delighted wtih the indepence and automony it gave him.
Being honest I didnt see the connection with Kinder and either did the kids (but they are not very brand aware at this stage). I think this would make an ideal gift for younger kids (I am thinking of ordering one for my Godsons christening). I would definetly use this site again and look forward to spending time with the kids creating new stories wtih them.
I like the idea of connecting the traditional with the new - getting a printed book to read after using the tablet/laptop to create the story.
Overall a great experience and one that I would recommend to my friends who have young kids,
