Maddie Aldridge, the eight-year-old niece of Britney Spears, is said to be in a "serious condition" after being involved in an off-roading accident.
The little girl was a passenger in an ATV which flipped over according, to The Mail Online.
Maddie is the daughter of Britney's younger sister Jamie-Lynn, who was not present at the time.
She was taking part in a hunting trip when the accident occurred.
TMZ reported that the little girl was submerged under water and was found unconscious.
She was later airlifted to hospital in Louisiana.
But reps for Britney responded with the following statement, slamming the media for reporting "incorrect" details.
"The details the media are reporting surrounding the incident regarding Jamie-Lynn‘s daughter Maddie are incorrect."
"Right now, the Spears family asks that everyone respect their privacy during this time, and appreciates all the prayers and support for their family."
Maddie's grandfather, Jamie Spears, told ET: "All I can say is pray for our baby Maddie."
