Things took a rather dramatic and unexpected turn in the Celebrity Big Brother house earlier this week, when Strictly Come Dancing professional Kristina Rihanoff revealed that she is three months pregnant with boyfriend Ben Cohen’s child.
While the dancer’s housemates congratulated her as she cried tears of joy, rugby star Cohen’s estranged wife Abby told The Mirror that the news came “as a shock” to the family.
Now, months after accusing Rihanoff of being involved in breaking up her daughter’s marriage, Abby’s mum Felicity Bassouls has spoken angrily about the surprise pregnancy reveal on live television.
In an interview with The Mirror this weekend, Felicity confirmed that her daughter was “certainly not told by Ben” that he was expecting. The former couple are parents to twin daughters.
Branding Cohen a ‘coward’, Ms Bassouls said: “I myself am astounded at how Kristina announced her condition on national TV; callous and cruel. Abby certainly was not told by Ben Cohen about the pregnancy. Our family are very sad for Abby.”
She added that Abby didn’t find out about the news until friends and family began calling her about the announcement on Celebrity Big Brother.
When asked for comment yesterday, Abby simply said: “This news has come as a shock to us all. Please respect mine and my children’s privacy at this time.”
