Empire actor Terrence Howard has this weekend taken to his social media channels to share the very first photo of his newborn son, Qirin Love.
Terence and wife Miranda welcomed little Qirin, their first child together, in May. This week, they officially confirmed his birth and revealed the meaning behind his name; ‘Qirin’ is apparently inspired by the mythical Chinese creature, the ‘qilin’.
Sharing a photo of himself beside a sleeping Qirin, 46-year-old Terrence wrote: “A mythical ½ dragon, ½ lion who glides above the land so as not to harm even a blade of grass…meet Qirin Love!”
Terrence is also father 21-year-old Aubrey, 19-year-old Hunter, and 17-year-old Heaven; his children from his first marriage.

Confirming Qirin’s birth to People magazine earlier this week, Terrence said: “He’s beautiful and strong and a whirlwind, and my wife is so happy.”
